Horses of established type and sound identity, accepted at inspection to found recorded lines where full pedigree is not yet documented.

Entry
Membership
The breeder joins the Society as a member.
Identification
The mare or stallion is microchipped and recorded.
DNA sample
A hair root or blood sample is taken for DNA parentage verification.
Inspection
The horse is inspected by independent inspectors against the published gates and scored traits.
Register entry
The registrar approves entry into the appropriate Register and issues a passport.
The Registers
A
Horses of established type and sound identity, accepted at inspection to found recorded lines where full pedigree is not yet documented.
B
Horses with verified parentage through recorded sires and dams. Progeny are recorded by generation, F1 to F3, as lines are built from recorded stock.
C
Horses identified and recorded for traceability and passport purposes, without breeding-grade status.
Mare Gates
A mare must pass all three gates before any trait is scored. A fail at any gate ends the inspection.
Structure and strength of the hindquarters, as the engine of the sport horse.
Pass / Fail
Freedom from lameness and disqualifying defects at inspection.
Pass / Fail
Manageable, trainable behaviour when handled and presented.

Foal Notification
Each covering is recorded on a covering certificate. When the foal is born, the breeder notifies the Studbook on the foal notification form. The foal is then microchipped, sampled for DNA parentage and entered in the record. The notification period is to be announced.
